Our West Australian team is backed by the national and international resources of the Cardno group. Cardno in Western Australia has been established for over 25 years. With offices in Perth and the South West region of Busselton and more than 150 staff offering capabilities in the areas of town planners, urban designers, environment consultants, traffic engineers and civil/structure engineers.

The community's attitude to recycling has changed dramatically in the past 15 years. What started with separating newspapers from general refuse has turned into a waste revolution.

All levels of government have limited resources to develop public infrastructure – yet the public's demands are high. Therefore, existing and future assets must be used wisely.
Structural Design
Our structural engineering team at Cardno Buckland has extensive knowledge and experience in structural design in the mining and resources sector.

Some of the more notable projects include:

The Grove Estate in Ashby - a residential estate in Perth's northern suburbs of approx. 600 lots. Cardno BSD performed - engineering and town planning on this project.
Resource Recovery Facility for the Mindarie Regional Council - a facility to process household solid waste from 500,000 people in Perth's northern suburbs. Initial stage is for 100,000 tonnes per annum. Cardno BSD performed - project management, engineering and environmental services on this project in a JV with Meinhardt Australia.
Kingston Estate, Australind (near Bunbury, a regional centre 200km south of Perth) - Residential estate of approximately 1200 lots. Cardno BSD performed town planning, engineering and environmental services work.
Vasse Newtown near Busselton in the South West of WA - up to 2000 lots of residential, light industrial, commercial and institutional uses to be built over the next 10 years or so. Cardno BSD performed all engineering and some of the town planning work.

Port Geographe Canal Development – located in Busselton, comprising in excess of 600 residential lots. Cardno BSD performed, planning, engineering and environmental services on the project.
Geraldton Regional Centre Strategy – this project was an integrated land use and transport planning study. The strategy provides a comprehensive framework for detailed planning and strategic actions to ensure the future growth of Geraldton as the regional centre.
Perth to Mandurah Railway – Cardno BSD have played a number of roles in this project including: Railway alignment study through Perth’s CBD and a Construction Disruption Management Plan for the works with the Kwinana Freeway.
